Why Should You Refer Your Clients to Next Phase Legal?
We receive many referrals from therapists and other mental health professionals throughout the Greater Boston area. Most mental health experts appreciate that their clients will benefit from a less stressful process when faced with conflict. Oftentimes, their clients are facing a divorce or other family law issues.
As we see it, divorce mediation and collaborative divorce are better solutions for most couples as opposed to a high-conflict and expensive court-based divorce. Perhaps even more importantly, divorce mediation and the collaborative divorce process is more respectful of families, especially those with school-age children.
One of the most often overlooked aspects of a court-based divorce is that the adversarial process tends to make things worse, not better. What was not optimal beforehand is usually made worse, such as parents working in a supportive and cooperative style for their kids. Research clearly shows that a high-conflict divorce is bad for children, not to mention adults.
Another important consideration is that with the court, even after a divorce, parties may find themselves back in court over and over again because they never learned how to work through conflict and compromise. Even moderate improvement of these areas can translate into big dividends for families, but we are probably not telling you anything you do not already know.
When you refer a client to us, rest assured they will be treated with compassion and respect. Almost all of our mediation clients reach a full agreement in a fraction of the time a court-based case would take, and at a fraction of the cost.
We welcome your call to learn more about our services and our approach, or to just chat over coffee in a relaxed atmosphere. Of course, we are interested in learning more about your practice as well.
